How to measure at home

Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string, approximately 10 cm long.

Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you'll wear the ring on. It should fit comfortably — not too tight, not too loose.

Mark where the paper overlaps with a pen, then lay it flat against a ruler. Note the measurement in millimeters.

Pro tip from our GIA gemologist: Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort.

Measure an existing ring

Find a ring that fits the intended finger well — one you wear regularly works best.

Place it flat on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (the empty space across the center) in millimeters.

Find your diameter in the size table. If your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger size.
